A grandparent portrait session: more than sixty years of love

How can you sum up spending hours with people who have shared decades together and still have so much joy & affection for one another? My favorite quotes from them were that "He's a good kisser. he still is!" and that "He was always a good dresser. you know, that's important!” What a joy to spend time with them. (I'd love to eventually be the "golden years" photographer for everyone in their prime years of life, celebrating decades together that most of us can't even wrap our heads around.)

Again and again, even though we know love’s landscape / and the little churchyard with its lamenting names / and the terrible reticent gorge in which the others / end: again and again the two of us walk out together / under the ancient trees, lay ourselves down again and again / among the flowers, and look up into the sky.

— Rainer Maria Rilke, ‘[Again and again, even though we know love’s landscape]’
